Hi! I am Dolores Newman, one of the owners at Confederate Ridge Animal Hospital. I was born in Philadelphia and grew up in New Jersey. I have lived in Virginia since 1992. I am a Virginia Tech alumni of both undergraduate and vet school.
Caroline County is my home along with my wonderful, supportive husband, Rod. My 4 children are grown either finishing college or starting their careers. However my house is never boring with 3 active dogs, 3 cats and 20 chickens.
Confederate Ridge Animal Hospital is a great place to spend my days with a superb staff and fantastic clients and patients. In my spare time I do enjoy gardening, reading, cooking and hiking with my husband and Great Dane, Bethy. I have also recently started training and showing my newest Great Dane, Quinn. I am enjoying this sport tremendously.
I look forward to what the Lord has in store for the future.

She started working in ER medicine right after her internship. She was the medical director for a few years to help implement hospital policy, procedures, and training protocols during the growth of the ER practice. She continues to do ER medicine but works part time with Confederate Ridge Animal Hospital since fall 2019. She loves the mix of emergency medicine and day practice and adores working with the patients and their owners who are in need. She volunteers here time working with the Virginia Fighting Taskforce in helping examine animals that have been in dog fighting and chicken fighting. In her free time she enjoys working out, working on her farmette, spending time with her horses; Pokey and Cappy and her dogs; Odie and Nahla.
Following her graduation from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Aragon decided to make the Fredericksurg area her permanent home. When not working Dr. Aragon enjoys spending time with her dogs, Diva and River, as well as attending local stock car races.
CRAH Team is so happy to have Dr. Aragon join our team in October of 2020!
